ReadyMeNow®
Learning That Lifts
We believe readiness is for everyone, and every story has value.
Our Mission, Vision and Values
Our Mission:
We improve survival rates in Mississippi by training bystanders to save lives where they live, work, and gather.
Our Vision:
To live as we have learned, lead from the front, stand ready at the margins, and uplift others with humility, strength, and grace.
Our Values:
Readiness – This is our capstone value, our rock. We look inward to learn how we are called to help others. We are prepared to empower others with courage and confidence.
Compassion – Strong. Present. Always. We care deeply, show up fully, and stay steady when others need us most.
Courage – We step forward for others. When things get tough, we don’t wait—we act, especially for those who can’t.
Dignity – In all lives and circumstances. Every person matters, no matter where they’re from or what they’ve been through.
Integrity – We do what is right without exception. We tell the truth, keep our promises, and don’t cut corners—ever.
Inclusion – Everyone is able and all are welcome. We believe in everyone’s potential. No one is left out or left behind.
Our Leadership
Ken Kerr founded ReadyMeNow and serves as our Executive Director. A licensed paramedic and seasoned safety professional, Ken brings 45 years of experience in emergency response, operational excellence, and volunteer leadership, serving both local communities and high-risk international environments.
He is joined by two founding officers:
Becky McMillan, Founding Secretary
Amy Underwood, Founding Treasurer
A full advisory board is being seated during our first fiscal year.
Together, our leadership team is guided by the values of readiness, humility, and service—committed to building more bystanders capable of helping others survive medical emergencies in the communities that we serve.
Funding, Support & Partnerships
We are a fully insured IRS approved 501c(3) public charity and nonprofit charity registered in Mississippi.
We seek and are supported by tax-deductible private donations, public donations, grants, in-kind contributions, and corporate giving.
Modest fees associated with some certification programs help us recover costs and sustain our charitable mission. All other learning and readiness services are offered freely or through donation-supported public access.
We seek to partner with other charitable organizations in ways that help to fulfill our mission and deliver our services and strengthen the individuals, organizations, and communities we serve.
We are proud to have earned the 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.
Our Team & Volunteers
To accomplish our mission, we recruit and engage volunteers who donate their valuable time and talent in support of our organization and those we serve.
With their help, we deliver our public education programs and community training services to those we serve and provide them with courage, clarity and confidence to produce more readiness during times of change, challenge or crisis.
